Midfield blow for Humphreys

The preparations of RMI boss Stuart Humphreys ahead of Saturday's trip to Hucknall have been dealt a massive blow with the loss of two of his midfield dynamos.

On the eve of Saturday's 2-1 home win over Worcester City, midfielder Eddie Hussin decided to leave the club to join Marine, the second RMI player to join the Crosby club in less than a month after Dave Eaton moved to the Unibond Premier promotion chasers shortly before the arrival at Hilton Park of Owen Roberts, scorer of the first goal against Worcester.

Hussin's departure was quickly followed by the news that cultured midfielder Hugh McAuley, scorer of several spectacular goals throughout the course of the season, could be set to be out of action until the summer because of an operation on his troublesome hernia injury.

With both Hussin and McAuley missing from action recently, Humphreys could be set to delve in to the transfer market for a replacement, although Gavin Lee-Ellison admirably filled the gap in the centre of midfield alongside Steve Porter in Saturday's victory.
