Dutch striker Marlon Beijard, a product of the world famous Ajax youth system, is set to make his Leigh RMI debut this evening in the friendly away to Cammell Laird after joining the club on trial from Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam as he looks to earn himself a contract in England.

Beijard is paying his own expenses for his trial period which will see him participate in three training sessions along with the friendlies at Cammell Laird this evening and Colwyn Bay on Saturday, with the possibility of an invitaion to remain with the club, should he sufficiently impress manager Stuart Humphreys after two years at Sparta which have seen him appear largely in their reserve side, although occasionally for their first team in the Dutch top division.
