RMI starlet set to feature on TV

Young Leigh RMI right back Anthony Filipek is to feature on MUTV, the television channel of Manchester United, on Wednesday 23rd October after participating in a charity football coaching day at Salford’s Sports City, the headquarters of Manchester County FA.

The day was organised to raise money for Manchester Children's Hospital and featured a number of County FA coaches.

Filipek, 19, is already a Level 2 coach and is well on his way to a UEFA B licence. He said he was "pleased to help such a good cause as well as gaining valuable experience in coaching young people", though it's not as if Anthony needs the experience after, in addition to his numerous appearances in the RMI first team, already managing to establish himself as a community coach with both Manchester United and Bolton Wanderers and joining the Manchester County FA elite list of coaches as a result, not to mention operating his own coaching company that covers a number of schools in the Greater Manchester region.

Anthony is currently being pursued by a number of top football sportswear suppliers who are keen to sponsor the player. Whilst dedicated to helping RMI establish themselves as a top non-league team, he is preparing for life after playing, even at such an early stage of his career.

The day was an huge success, with ex-Manchester United head coach Eric Harrison, currently involved with the David Beckham Academy, and Manchester United and England player Gary Neville also taking part.
