Hyde United vs. Leigh RMI preview

Another weekend brings yet another vital Blue Square North encounter at both ends of the table as RMI make the short trip to take on former manager Steve Waywell and his play-off chasing Hyde United side at their Ewen Fields home on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams last met at Hilton Park in October last year when  Kieran Lugsden scored RMI's only goal in a humiliating 5-1 defeat, while Leigh's last visit to Ewen Fields brought only a 2-0 defeat, despite a spirited performance, almost a year to the day.

Ex-RMI striker Chris Simm won't be facing his former side after a serious accident at work resulted in an operation on his jaw that will mean he will miss the next seven weeks of action at the very least.

Leigh boss Steve Bleasdale has no major injury worries, with centre back Rob Marsh-Evans again likely to play with a bandage on his head after he sustained a head injury in last week's 1-0 defeat at Solihull Moors.

Hyde's impressive 2-1 home win over Boston last Sunday lifts to seventh position in the Blue Square North and just two points short of a play-off place, while RMI's 3-0 loss to AFC Telford United in midweek leaves them seven points adrift of safety.

Admission at Ewen Fields (Junction 3, M67) is £10 for adults, £4 for concessions.
