Another Step forward for RMI!

Leigh RMI manager Steve Bleasdale has beaten off competition from several Blue Square Premier and Blue Square North sides in securing the signing of hugely promising young striker Jordan Stepien from local League Two side Bury as the club continues to prepare for next season's assault on the UniBond Premier League title.

Nineteen year old striker Stepien spent ten years at Gigg Lane as a schoolboy and youth player before signing a professional contract with the League Two club prior to the start of the 2007/08 season after a series of impressive displays in the Shakers' reserve side.

The Manchester-born forward drew attention from several admiring clubs as he spent the majority of the 2007/08 season in the Blue Square North with Nuneaton Borough, scoring ten league goals in nineteen appearances of a hugely impressive loan spell at Liberty Way, one of which came against RMI in Nuneaton's 3-1 victory at Hilton Park in November 2007.

Stepien's signing follows hot on the heels of the arrival of former Runcorn Linnets striker Michael Morrison as the pair join Richard Chetcuti in forming RMI's current choice of strikers as they build up to the pre-season schedule ahead of the exciting prospect of UniBond Premier League football from August.
