Leigh Genesis manager Steve Bleasdale has finally secured the permanent signing of long-term target Andrew Teague following the defender's release from League Two outfit Macclesfield Town ahead of this season's assault on the UniBond Premier League title.
Twenty two year old Teague (pictured) made his debut for the Silkmen as a teenager in the 2004/2005 season and went on to make nearly forty first team appearances for the club, a figure undoubtedly cut short by a serious leg injuty in November 2006, but his return to fitness saw successful loan spells last season with Blue Square North sides Tamworth and Hyde United.
With the signing another excellent addition to Bleasdale's squad building for the coming season, the Leigh manager admitted that Teague had been a long-term target of his and that he was delighted to "have a player of his calibre in the squad" when considering his League Two experience.
