Steve Bleasdale's selection options have been boosted ahead of Saturday afternoon's FA Trophy First Qualifying Round trip to Harrogate Railway Athletic after finally securing the signing of striker Chris Amadi from Blue Square North oufit Burscough.

24 year old Amadi, a long-term Leigh target, has made several league appearances for Burscough and joins Genesis in time to travel with the squad to Station View on Saturday

Although born in Oldham, Amadi was prevented from making his Burscough debut until September while awaiting clearance from the Nigerian FA, though such obstacles have been avoided when signing for Leigh Genesis.

He represents a direct replacement for Darren Mansaram, who is leaving the club after scoring three goals in eight league appearances since joining the Leigh Genesis revolution in the summer, with the former Grimsby Town and Bohemians man eventually succumbing to a gruelling 160 mile round trip to turn up to training each day.
