FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round draw

Leigh Genesis' reward for their 1-0 FA Trophy First Qualifying Round victory away to UniBond Division One North side Harrogate Railway Athletic on Saturday is a home tie against UniBond Premier League rivals Cammell Laird in the Second Qualifying Round.

With £3,000 in prize money available to the winners of the tie, not to mention the fact that Blue Square North sides enter the competition at the Third Qualifying Round stage, the stakes will be high as Leigh look for further FA Trophy success to follow last season's appearance in the First Round proper.

The sides last met only last week when, despite having former Leigh man Lee Atherton sent off, hosts Lairds came from a goal behind to win 2-1 at a drenched Kirklands.

The fixture with Cammell Laird will take place at a venue to be confirmed on Saturday 1st November, with a 3pm kick off.

Was hoping to get Skem or Warrington away but hopefully we can get revenge for last week. No news on the venue yet but it will be on here once I find out.

they never really caused us 2 many problems at their place although they won lol. so should dominate again and with better conditions it'll be easier 2 create chances.

They hammered Wireless on Saturday so we really need to be on our guard for this one, certainly won't be a pushover by any stretch of the imagination.

Cammell Laird have now gone 5 matches unbeaten, their manager Derek Ward says that this is due in some way to the appointment of his new assistant Ian Cook.

It definitely seemed to be the assistant who was doing most of the 'managing' the other week - wonder if their Everton jackets will be making another appearance?!

Their coaching staff were wearing Everton gear instead of the UniBond stuff.
