Young midfielder who made his Leigh Genesis debut in the 3-0 UniBond Premier League defeat to North Ferriby United at Hurst Cross, home of Ashton United, on November 8th 2008, having previously played in Macclesfield Town's youth set up.

After an impressive pre-season during the summer of 2009, Dykes found himself on the fringes of Garry Flitcroft's first team squad, and appeared as a substitute in the 3-1 win away to Rossendale United on the opening day of the 2009/2010 UniBond League Division One North season.
