For the fourth time in a matter of just a few weeks, Leigh Genesis have seen their scheduled Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy tie away to neighbours Atherton Collieries postponed after the Alder House pitch failed an inspection this evening.
The original plan to attempt to replay the game tomorrow (Thursday) evening has also been shelved, with Lancashire FA rules dictating that the tie will now become a 'home' fixture for Leigh.
Also it is likely to be played next week, a day and venue has yet to be confirmed.
And for a fourth time...

I think after the second postponement, and the weather staying as it was, they should of really looked ahead and made the decision to move it sooner.
Presume league matches will once again be moved around?

That's not to say that we didn't enjoy our run to the semi's last year, but it's reached a point with this Colls game where I'm just not bothered, it's taking that long to get it out of the way!

I know as soon as I put the link on here it got took off the official site. the story was that he and a player who trained but never played for genesis earlier this season had signed back for us
The story had a photo of the two holding up a genesis shirt with Merricks as well
