Lairds match postponed

Leigh Genesis’ home game with Cammell Laird, scheduled to take place this afternoon (10th January) has been postponed because of a frozen pitch at Stainton Park.

The big winter freeze meant that the Stainton Park pitch in Radcliffe was deemed unplayable following an inspection this morning.

No new date has been set for this fixture, with Leigh's next game this coming Monday (12th January) when, weather-permitting, they travel to Hurst Cross to face Ashton United in the Third Round of the UniBond League Challenge Cup.

Suppose it was always likely with the overnight frost, best get looking for a Plan B.
