Jordan Steps Back to Genesis

Leigh Genesis have been handed a huge boost ahead of this afternoon's fixture against Guiseley at Stainton Park with the news that striker Jordan Stepien has returned to the club in an unusual 'dual registration' arrangement from Blue Square North outfit Burscough.

Twenty year old striker Stepien originally signed for Leigh on a full-time contract in June 2008, and scored five goals in fourteen appearances in all competitions before the club's financial problems forced him to move up a league and join Burscough.

With the departure of top scorer Phil Marsh to league rivals FC United of Manchester, it left Leigh looking for a new striker to partner Barrow loanee Chris Thompson, and Stepien was keen to return the club, despite Burscough wanting to retain his services.

As such, with the blessing of both leagues, he has been signed by both clubs, allowing him to play for Leigh against Guiseley this afternoon, before appearing for Burscough in their league fixture on Tuesday evening. After this point, it is hoped that an agreement can be reached whereby Stepien will remain at Leigh for the rest of the season.
