Winger Tom Ince joined Leigh Genesis from Bamber Bridge on registration deadline day on 26th March 2009, making his Leigh debut in the 2-1 win over Cammell Laird at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium on 31st March 2009.

Ince, equally adept on both the left and right wing, began his career in the youth ranks at Burnley, representing Lancashire Schoolboys, before joining Bamber Bridge.

He failed to score in his first twenty one Leigh appearances, but that was to change in his twenty second when he scored all three goals in a 3-1 win away to Atherstone Town in the FA Trophy First Qualifying Round on 17th October 2009.

After a sensational 2009/2010 season, Ince was presented with the Player of the Year award as voted for by the Leigh Genesis Supporters Association, along with the Player's Player of the Year, as voted for by his team mates.

After scoring fifteen goals in a total of fifty six appearances, Ince left Leigh after fourteen months at the club, following ex-manager Garry Flitcroft to league rivals Chorley in May 2010.
