Warrington cup date switched

The success of the Warrington Wolves rugby league side in reaching a Wembley date against Huddersfield Giants in the final of the Carnegie Challenge Cup with a thrilling semi final victory over Wigan Warriors in Widnes on Saturday has forced a change of date in Leigh Genesis’ own road to Wembley.
The FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie with UniBond League Division One North neighbours Warrington Town, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 29th August, has now been rearranged to take place on Friday 28th August with a 7:45pm kick off at Warrington's Cantilever Park home. The change of date means that it avoids a clash with the Wolves' big day at Wembley, with Town's entire matchday staff and a huge percentage of their supporters set to follow their town's rugby side down to Wembley.
Ironically, the sides face each other just three days later, when Warrington make their first ever visit to the Leigh Sports Village Stadium for a league fixture on Monday 31st August at 3:00pm.
