Genesis-Cables derby brought forward

Leigh Genesis’ eagerly-anticipated game against local rivals Prescot Cables, originally scheduled to take place on the final day of the season, has now been brought forward to take place at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium on Saturday 26th September 2009 with a 3pm kick off.

Leigh were originally scheduled to take on Radcliffe Borough that afternoon but, given Radcliffe's progression in the FA Cup, resulting in a Second Qualifying Round tie at Warrington Day on the same day, Leigh were keen to ensure a local derby of similar standing to take place on the same day.

The date has always been confirmed for Leigh's UniBond League President's Cup First Round tie against Woodley Sports, with Garry Flitcroft's side travelling to Lambeth Stadium on Tuesday 13th October for a 7:45pm kick off.

A new date for the home fixture against Radcliffe Borough, along with the previously re-arranged game with Wakefield, will be confirmed in due course.

And if possibly delay the kick off for an hour or so and then I see more than the second half!
