Snow joke as another postponement looms

With Leigh Genesis seeing their past three fixtures because of the 'deep freeze', Saturday's home fixture against Rossendale United may become a fourth consecutive victim of the North West winter.

Garry Flitcroft's side haven't played a game since defeating AFC Fylde 4-1 at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium on Saturday 19th December, with games against Skelmersdale United, Warrington Town and the Lancashire Trophy Quarter Final away to Colne all being postponed since then.

Although a decision has yet to be confirmed about Saturday's game, Leigh Centurions have twice seen home fixtures postponed in recent weeks because of the wintry conditions, and the Sports Village pitch, like everywhere else in the region, is currently covered with a hefty amount of snow.

Supporters are advised to check the club's websites before travelling to the game on Saturday to ensure that the game is still going ahead.

Suppose there's only so much that undersoil heating can do against a foot of snow!

its not that just think how much money lsv have wasted keeping the undersoil heating on for the rugby for it to be postponed twice due to snow and ice around the stadium.
dont think they are going to turn it on for us just for it to be postponed again due to conditions around the stadium.

Think that definitely plays a part to be honest Nick as it's comfortably a five figure sum that they've lost with the past two postponements.
