Lancashire Trophy Semi Final Draw

After coming from a goal behind to run out 3-1 victors away to Colne in their Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy Quarter Final, Leigh Genesis have been drawn to face league rivals Clitheroe in the semi finals of the competition.

Strangely, the draw was made prior to Tuesday night's three quarter final ties, with that evening's results meaning that Clitheroe, impressive 4-0 quarter final winners away to UniBond Premier League outfit Marine, will take on Genesis in one of the semi finals, while the winners of the Southport vs. Barrow quarter final will face Lancaster City in the other semi final.

Leigh and Clitheroe have already met once in the league this season when two late goals saw Genesis controversially claim a 2-1 victory at Shawbridge last October.

The two semi finals will be played at the County Ground in Leyland, headquarters of the Lancashire FA, over two dates in February. Full details will be confirmed via the club's official website at www.leighgenesis.com when available.

Really looking forward to this, as soon as we find out the date of the game then I think it's a must to get as many fans as possible at the game and get behind the lads.

Certainly a big prize at this stage of the competition and I think the neutral semi's are a crackin' idea. Would imagine Clitheroe will take a big support as well.

very tough game Clitheroe have been in good form and will want revenge from we was at there place and nicked 3 points
