The 2009/2010 season might have been finished for barely a month, but Leigh Genesis' preparations for the 2010/2011 Evo-Stick League Division One North campaign are well underway with the news that they are close to appointing a new manager to take the reins at Crilly Park.
After former manager Garry Flitcroft left the club at the end of last season, Genesis have been inundated with applications for the vacant managerial position.
A whole host of CV's were whittled down to a shortlist of interviewees, with four of the most impressive potential managers recently interviewed by chairman Alan Leach, board member Mary Croasdale and playing representative Andy Heald in Crilly Park's boardroom.
Having met those on the managerial shortlist, the club's board are now discussing the merits of each applicant and hope to confirm the appointment of a new manager early next week.
- Don't forget that this Saturday (22nd May) marks the first of three "Clean Up Saturday's" at Leigh's Crilly Park home to ensure that the ground is in satisfactory condition ahead of a league inspection on Monday 7th June. All help, even if only for an hour or so or the donation of any materials, is hugely appreciated.
