Leigh Genesis' pre-season schedule is starting to take shape with the confirmation of two further friendly fixtures in preparation for next season's Evo-Stik League Division One North campaign.
The first fixture sees Leigh make an intriguing trip across the Pennines to face Yorkshire side Silsden, who finished last season in fourteenth position in the Vodkat North West Counties League Premier Division.
Having spent the last few years playing at Keighley Cougars' Cougar Park ground, Silsden are making a return to their spiritual Keighley Road home over the summer, with Genesis being one of the first visitors to their refurbished ground on Saturday 24th July with a 3pm kick off.
Leigh's second game of that week sees them visit West Cheshire League side Newton FC on Tuesday 27th July with a 7.45pm kick off. Based in Frankby on the Wirral, Newton finished in sixth position in the West Cheshire League First Division last season, with the title being won by Cammell Laird's reserve side.
More friendlies will be announced once details are confirmed.

It's far too soon after the pitch re-seeding to consider playing games on it - hopefully we'll reap the benefits in the winter and have less games called off.
Not sure if we're the first to play at Silsden's new ground, but I think it's an honour for the club that we're one of the first.
As was posted on here a couple of days ago, LR have no knowledge of that friendly and have confirmed they won't be playing any home friendlies either. Their only scheduled home game is one at the end of July in the Goldline Trophy and even that might have to get played elsewhere.
Silsden's home game against Oldham on Saturday has been switched to take place at Oldham's training ground so I've asked them what the score is with regards to us playing at their place next week and they've been said they will let me know once they know how work is progressing. Just one to bear in mind folks.
