Leigh Genesis are set for a bonus payday in their debut season at Crilly Park with the news that Chester FC, formed out of the ashes of the defunct Chester City, will be one of the visitors to Spa Road next season.
Having gone out of business partway through last year's Blue Square Premier season, the new Chester club were originally placed in the Vodkat North West Counties League, but have since won their appeal against the FA's decision and been placed a league higher in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
The decision means that Genesis will now have 23 sides in their league next season, meaning that with 22 home fixtures rather than the expected 21, Genesis season tickets are even more of a bargain at just £110 for an adult, £70 for an over 65 or full-time student and just £20 for an under 18.
The new Chester club will continue to be based at the city's Deva Stadium that Leigh last visited on Boxing Day 2003, though probably the most memorable meeting between the sides came at Hilton Park in September 2001 when two goals from Michael Twiss and one from Marcus Hallows earned Leigh a terrific 3-0 victory over the former Football League outfit.

i like the deva stadium but if memmory serves me right, their refreshment bar made the lsv look a bargain!! hope that has changed under the new team/board at chester fc!!
Just been reading their forum, they're a weird bunch this Chester lot. Apparently they're expecting a low crowd for their first friendly at the Deva because the 'opposition are unattractive'! God help them in this league!
