Leigh Genesis boss Mark Maddox has continued preparations ahead of his first season as manager of the Crilly Park club with a trio of signings ahead of Saturday's pre-season friendly away North West Counties Premier Division side Silsden.
The first to sign is twenty eight year old attacking midfielder John Lawless, who was managed by Maddox at previous side Formby last season.
Prior to that, Lawless was an impressive performer for Evo-Stik Premier League side Marine and an FA Trophy winner with Burscough whilst also playing for Colwyn Bay, Aberystwyth Town and TNS, coming up against boyhood heroes Liverpool for the latter in July 2005.
Joining Lawless at the club is promising nineteen year old Adam Strode, a left-sided midfielder who began his career with two years at League Two side Accrington Stanley before spending last season in the North West Counties Premier Division with Alsager Town.
Completing the trio is twenty two year midfielder Mark King, who joins Leigh after spending last season in the Evo-Stik Premier League with Marine.
King began his career as a professional with Blackburn Rovers but, despite being a regular in their reserve side, didn't make a senior appearance after suffering two serious injuries during his time at Ewood Park. After leaving Blackburn, King joined Accrington Stanley and made several first team appearances before later appearing for Northwich Victoria.
All three players are pictured with manager Mark Maddox and player/coach Andy Heald, with Strode on the left hand side, King in the centre and Lawless on King's left hand side.
After training with Genesis in recent weeks, Kris King has decided to join league rivals Mossley, while Maddox has decided to release David Hill and Richard Ratcliffe from his squad. The club would like to wish all three players the very best of luck in the future.
Saturday's game with Silsden is a 3pm kick off and is to be played at Crosshills FC near Keighley. For those unable to attend, live updates will be available via twitter.com/leighgenesisfc

Lawless looked very lively during the Chadderton game, King seems a very unassuming lad considering he's played in the Football League at such a young age, and I hear Strode is rated pretty highly.
yeah kingy will be missed at LB, best player we had in that position for a while, just hope he gets in the squad at Mossley otherwise its a talent being wasted on the bench
Well if you have Lawless playing for you, you won't be seeing me at any of your games.
Nearly caused a riot at Gigg Lane with his Munich aeroplane. He was chucked out by Marine and up in front of the FA for that incident.

That has been raised mate, but it's all in the past now - Maddox managed him at Formby last year and reckons he can calm him down a bit. No doubt that the Marine incident is why he's available to a club such as ourselves though as his ability is undoubted.
Oh aye, and that isn't really Leighs worry, what happened two years ago with two unrelated teams. But from my point of view, there is no way there will ever be a chance that any of my coin could find its way into his pocket.
Which is a shame as I was looking forward to getting down to Crilly for a few games when possible.
I suppose that's up to you mate and it will be a shame if you don't come to any of our games, but I think it's fair to say that we won't exactly be paying him a fortune and I'd like to think that the old adage of 'no player being bigger than the club' applies here in that one player with a bit of 'baggage' (let's be honest, he's not the only one in non-league) shouldn't go against the entire club.
It can be moved, I won't be there. Plod moving it to Sunday for no reason? No thanks.
And you all have valid points about Lawless, but it still stands, anyway, my 2 games a season at Crilly won't be missed
