Leigh Genesis vs. Woodley Sports preview

Stockport-based Woodley go in to the game in a fine vein of form, with a midweek 3-1 League Cup victory over Evo-Stik Premier League side Kendal Town being preceeded by a 3-2 win at Radcliffe Borough and a recent 5-1 Cheshire Cup win over league rivals Witton Albion.

Genesis, meanwhile, showed a big improvement on recent outings in their home fixture with Clitheroe last weekend, going 1-0 up through a John Lawless goal but eventually finishing up on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline as the visitors continued their climb in to the group of sides at the top of the table.

Leigh boss Mark Maddox will be putting centre back Adam Farley through a pre-match fitness test after struggling with injury recently, while Joe Evans is back in contention after serving a suspension for his recent red card in the home defeat to fellow strugglers Cammell Laird, though winger Adam Strode has been released from the club as Maddox awaits news on a couple of potential new signings.

The two sides last met in April when they drew 1-1 at Woodley's Lambeth Grove home, with the previous fixture bringing a 2-0 Genesis win at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium last March.

Kick off at Crilly Park is at 3pm, with admission costing £7 for adults, £5 for over 65's and students and just £2 for under 18's, with season tickets valid for use as normal.
