Healdy still a Leyther!

Leigh Genesis have confirmed that midfielder Andy Heald has been given permission to play for Norfolk-based side Wroxham. Andy spends a large amount of time on business in that area of the country and as such has requested that he be allowed to play for the Ridgeons League Premier Division side to maintain his match fitness on the occasions that he is working outside the region during the week and unable to get back to Leigh.

Thirty-year old Heald said "my passion remains with Leigh, and that will always remain the case. As those who know me will back up, I feel an immense pride whenever I represent my hometown club and I am looking forward hugely to working with new manager Alan Kershaw."

Andy will remain a Leigh Genesis player and will be continuing in his role as player/coach, where he will be working alongside experienced defender Steve Brockley, who has been given a player/coach role after the appointment of Alan Kershaw as first team manager.

The first game for the new set up comes on Saturday afternoon when Bamber Bridge are the visitors to Crilly Park for a 3pm kick off.

Was a bit shocked myself when I saw it but glad it's all cleared up and he's committed to us.
