New manager confirmed!

Leigh RMI have officially confirmed as to who the successor to Steve Waywell is as manager at Hilton Park. Ironically, it's someone who Waywell signed as an RMI player and also recently appointed as his assistant.

Former Leigh RMI and Bolton Wanderers midfielder Mark Patterson only returned to Hilton Park a fortnight ago when then manager Steve Waywell brought Patterson in as his assistant manager.

Waywell departed to Unibond Premier League side Hyde United last week to leave Patterson taking care of team matters as caretaker manager. Waywell has since returned to Hilton Park to sign former players Neil Fisher and John McGill.

Patterson improved the RMI board enough as he took charge of RMI's last two games, both against Yorkshire opposition. Although RMI didn't gain a point out of those games, the performances of the players were sufficient to earn Patterson a permanent position at Hilton Park.

Patterson has earned all of his coaching badges so will be taking all of the training himself and save money by not employing an assistant. Patterson, however, hasn't signed a contract so if he works wonders at Hilton Park could be poached by a larger club.
