Maamria turns down transfer!

Leigh RMI's Tunisian striker Dino Maamria has turned down his protracted transfer to Conference relegation rivals Stevenage Borough.

After much deliberation, Maamria has decided it is in his best interests to stay at Hilton Park, where he is RMI's chief striker, and keep his present job in East Lancashire.

Maamria's decision has probably put paid to Mark Patterson's hopes of signing former Grimsby Town and Wigan Athletic striker Lee Ashcroft who would only move to Hilton Park as a replacement for Maamria.

Maamria will start for Leigh RMI in tomorrow's Marsden Trophy Semi Final against Chorley at Hilton Park.
