New signings take shape

Leigh RMI are close to sealing the signings of three players who will be making a return to Hilton Park, while they are also reported to be targeting a Nationwide League defender.

Former Chester City star Martyn Lancaster (pictured) will be making a permanent return to Hilton Park after impressing while on loan from the promotion chasing Seals. The 22-year old defender has impressed RMI manager Mark Patterson enough to warrant a new contract which has now been agreed and only needs to be penned.

Another loan player of last season is also set to make a permanent return to Hilton Park in the form of Blackpool defender Guy Heffernan, who despite having limited opportunities since signing on a non-contract basis in March, due mainly to the good form of the RMI side, has been rewarded with a new, more permanent contract at Hilton Park.

Former RMI striker Marcus Hallows is also returning to Hilton Park after a short, prolific period under the stewardship under former RMI assistant manager Dave Miller at Unibond League outfit Stalybridge Celtic.

To complete a busy day of transfer activity, RMI manager Mark Patterson has held talks with Bury defender Nicky Hill about a possible drop of division involving a transfer to Hilton Park.
