Leigh RMI have completed the signing of England semi-professional international midfielder Warren Peyton, becoming RMI's third semi-pro England man along with Neil Durkin and Martyn Lancaster.

Former Doncaster Rovers and Nuneaton Borough left sided midfielder Peyton is described by RMI manager Mark Patterson as being "hard-working and solid" and along with "Leigh’s other non-league internationals, Neil Durkin and Martin Lancaster, he will form the nucleus of a strong defence".

Peyton's signing comes at a perfect time with the news that former Oldham Athletic midfielder Phil Salt has quit the club after two seasons at Hilton Park due to work commitments meaning he couldn't meet the clubs' training schedule. However, Patterson has said "the door is open" if Salt wants to make a return for the Railwaymen.

Patterson's next priority is a "big centre forward to spearhead our attack" and is rumoured to be chasing the signature of journeyman former Stockport County, Port Vale and Walsall hotshot Brett Angell.
