The game was curiously only played with 40 minutes each way though that didn't seem to affect RMI as they comfortably won at Irongate, the home of host Unibond League outfit Bamber Bridge.

Goals from Andy Heald and Marcus Hallows, on his return to RMI after an enforced absence while playing for Stalybridge Celtic, gave RMI a comfortable victory in their first pre-season game as they prepare for the forthcoming Conference campaign.
