Mark Patterson signed centre-half Paul Browne today and said it will be the last new face coming to Hilton Park before the new season.

Former Nuneaton man Browne has impressed during a number of pre-season matches for RMI as a trialist and now has been recruited to further strengthen RMI's defence. Patterson believes Browne will slot in at the back well alongside Martyn Lancaster and Neil Durkin.

Patterson also stated in the Bolton Evening News that he is happy with the players who have joined the club but he said he would of liked to have a few more games with them.

Patterson also states that he would like to bring in trialist Paul Shepherd who has impressed throughout pre-season, especially against Rossendale, where he marked his appearence with a quality goal. But the chances of Shepherd joining the club are thin because of the wage bill cut and Patterson has to work with a tight budget.

However, Leigh let left-midfielder Neil Prince sign with Lancaster City today, maybe this will open up a space for Shepherd to sign. Former Liverpool and England Under-19 man Prince agreed terms with Lancaster today after playing two pre-season friendlies with them.

The Leigh manager says he is almost certain on what team he will pick to start against Dagenham on Saturday but he'll make the final changes this week.
