Leigh RMI v. Halifax Town preview

Leigh RMI entertain high flying Yorkshiremen (yes such a thing does exist) Halifax Town this Saturday afternoon at Hilton Park with RMI looking to break their duck against the Shaymen, losing both their previous encounters with their Roses rivals.

Gerry Harrison is Mark Patterson's only injury problem going into the game as the former Burnley man is presently watching games from the stands because of a broken collar bone.

Patterson believes this match will prove to be RMI's most difficult match so far this season. He believes the Shaymen have got a strong squad with good players.

Leigh will be without local lad Andy Heald who completed a move to Stalybridge Celtic yesterday and Guy Heffernan who was also released. New signing Steve Redmond will be making his debut tomorrow, the former Manchester City man will be looking to strenghthen the RMI defence after conceding 6 goals in the opening three games, though striker David McNiven, signed on a free transfer in the summer, will be looking to continue his hot streak of goalscoring. In fact, McNiven is unbelievably the only player to hit the net in an RMI shirt in all three of Leigh's opening games.
