A Woking goal from Steve Ferguson was enough to give the visitors their first ever win at Hilton Park and end RMI's unbeaten home record.

The visitors arrived full of hope but RMI were in confident after maintaining an unbeaten home record, despite both home games this season being against promotion hopefuls Dagenham & Redbridge and Halifax Town.

The victory and draw in those games were mcuh to do with three goals in two games for summer signing David McNiven, but it was a forgetful match for the former Oldham Athletic and Hamilton Academicals man today. McNiven should've given an early lead to RMI but his close-range shot was saved by Woking goalkeeper Ashley Bayes when it seemed the goal was at his mercy.

RMI also missed chances, with on-loan striker Neil Robinson guilty on a couple of occasions, firing straight at the goalkeeper with one chance, and shooting wide with another when in all honesty he really should've hit the target.

Woking took the lead when former Tottenham man Steve Ferguson headed home a fifty-fifth minute corner from Scott Canham to keep the visitors in touch with the leading pack in the Conference.

RMI had a glaring chance to equalise when former Manchester City and Bury defender Steve Redmond headed over a Warren Peyton corner over the crossbar with less than seven minutes left.
