Midfielder departs on loan

Leigh RMI's experienced midfielder Ged Kielty has been allowed to sign a three month loan deal Unibond Premier League outfit Stalybridge Celtic after a series of poor performance in the RMI midfield from the former Altrincham star.

Kielty, who will probably be best remembered for an excellent two goal performance in last season's epic 4-3 defeat against Wrexham in the LDV Vans Trophy, is sure to feel at home at Bower Fold alongside former RMI team-mates Dave German and Craig Dootson under the management of former RMI assistant boss Dave Miller, along with left-sided star Andy Heald who departed Leigh for Stalybridge only a matter of weeks ago.

His departure looks as though it will open the door for a sustained run in the first team former Blackpool man Wayne Maden, who scored the winning goal in the recent 1-0 Conference away victory against Northwich Victoria. Kielty is now off the RMI wage bill, which although means the squad may be weakened, means that there are extra funds available for RMI boss Mark Patterson which will allow him to strengthen his small squad.

Kielty has looked to be on his way out of Hilton Park since the summer when Patterson announced that the club would accept any offers for Kielty, along with any offers for former Burnley midfielder Gerry Harrison.
