Patterson appointed - but it's not at RMI!

Former RMI manager Mark Patterson has quickly found himself a new job following his resignation as Leigh boss last weekend, and he finds himself re-united with a former Railwaymen star in the Unibond Premier League.

Patterson has been appointed manager of Unibond Premier outfit Chorley, and will also be looking to resurrect his playing career with the Magpies once he recovers from a slight achilles problem.

Patterson resigned as RMI manager following the 4-1 home defeat to Barnet earlier this month.

Patterson will again link up with former Bolton Wanderers and Stalybridge Celtic striker Marcus Hallows, a player ironically released by Patterson earlier this season while both were at Hilton Park.

Patterson had previously kept his fitness up following his resignation from RMI by turning out for Lancashire outfit Rossendale United.

Patterson was reknowned for complaining about the quality of the pitch at Hilton Park during his spell with RMI, blaming it on the large number of Rugby League games being played on the ground. With National League Two outfit Chorley Lynx sharing Victory Park with Patterson's new club, I wonder if the same complaints will be raised now that he is with the Magpies!
