Kielty returns to RMI

Leigh RMI manager Phil Starbuck has welcomed long serving midfielder Ged Kielty back to his squad after the former Altrincham star completed his three month loan spell back at his former club Stalybridge Celtic in the Unibond Premier League.

Although Starbuck has never worked directly with Kielty, with former manager Mark Patterson still at the helm when Kielty was loaned out to Stalybridge earlier in the season, the former Hucknall Town manager has seen and heard good things about Kielty and has welcomed him back in to his RMI fold.

Kielty is welcomed back to the squad in time to press for a place in the RMI midfield when they make the trip to Gloucestershire on Saturday afternoon to face fellow strugglers Forest Green Rovers. However, if Kielty wants to add to his ninety-one starts for RMI in the Conference, he faces stiff competition from the impressive Carl Rezai and recent signing from Runcorn FC Halton, Mike Harris, while RMI player-assistant manager Steve Redmond is also pushing for a place in the squad after a calf injury. Add Warren Peyton and Wayne Maden, both hugely impressive in recent games, to the equation and there is hot competition for the two, possibly three, central midfield spots in the RMI side.
