RMI to face Blackpool outfit in Marsden Trophy

The Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy does very little to stir the enthusiasm of Leigh RMI supporters, but last season it provided the Railwaymen with their first silverware since 2000 and they will be confident of success again this year.

RMI begin their defence of the LFA Trophy, sponsored by the Marsden Building Society, with an away tie against Blackpool-based North West Counties League outfit Squires Gate in the Second Round of the competition.

The game is expected to take place on Tuesday 6th January.
