RMI sign Northampton star

Leigh RMI manager Phil Starbuck has completed the loan signing of Northampton Town's former Oldham Athletic midfielder Paul Rickers.

The midfielder signed for the Cobblers from RMI's fellow Lancashire outfit Oldham Athletic in the summer of 2002, but he broke his leg in an FA Cup tie with Boston United last season, and has consequently only made appearance for Northampton this season, a substitute appearance in the Carling Cup defeat to Premiership side Portsmouth.

Rickers has signed a deal which will see him stay at Hilton Park until the end of January, and he is set to go straight in to the side to face Chester City at Hilton Park on Thursday afternoon.

Also signing is striker Mario Daniel on a short term contract.
