David McNiven rejects move to Conference rivals!

Leigh RMI top scorer David McNiven has given the club a massive boost after turning down a possible transfer to Nationwide Conference rivals Stevenage Borough.

McNiven, who has hit the net on 23 occasions in all competitions this season, held talks with the Broadhall Way outfit but decided against a move to the Hertfordshire side.

It is now hoped that the 25 year old former Leeds United, York City and Hamilton Academicals striker will proceed to sign a new deal at Hilton Park, despite reported interest from Conference high-flyers Hereford United.

McNiven scored again in Saturday's vital 4-2 home victory over Margate at Hilton Park and RMI boss Phil Starbuck will be hoping that Nivvo stays with the Railwaymen beyond the end of this season, despite the growing list of admirers queuing up for McNiven's signature.
