End of the Lane for RMI

Chris Lane, RMI's player of the year last season, has returned to his former club Southport following RMI's relegation to the Conference North.

With the Sandgrounders recently taking the Conference North title and set to swap divisions with RMI this coming season, Southport boss Liam Watson has taken the opportunity to take Lane back to Haig Avenue after a two year spell at Hilton Park.

Lane was a particularly impressive performer for RMI last season, successfully stepping up to be the club's captain and making a smooth switch to the centre of defence, putting in some excellent games despite his side's poor finish and earning himself widespread praise from across the board at RMI.

Everyone at Unofficial RMI Online wishes Chris all the best at Southport, and he is sure to be made very welcome should he ever return to Hilton Park.
