Gainsborough Trinity v. Leigh RMI preview

RMI make the trip to Lincolnshire tomorrow looking to build upon Monday's 1-0 home victory over Hinckley and in turn banish the ghosts of Gainsborough.

Although his side fell to a 3-1 defeat at Barrow last Saturday, Andy Nelon's RMI side quickly bounced back with a deserved 1-0 victory at home to Hinckley United on Bank Holiday, with Nelson hailing both the resilience of his side and the increased amount of vocal support from the Hilton Park terraces.

RMI will need all of that resilience when they visit Northolme, a ground where RMI traditionally haven't had the best of times in the past. Even the all-conquering RMI side of the 1999/2000 season that saw them win the Unibond Premier League title at a canter failed to win at Gainsborough, losing a thrilling game 4-3 after previously holding a commanding 2-0 lead.

RMI have no major injuries to contend with although Nelson does have a slight selection headache with Lee Shillito, Chris Simm and Lee Thompson all in good form, but Nelson can only choose two out of those three strikers in his starting eleven.

Don't forget that it's an early start with a 12pm kick off to avoid a clash with the Wales-England game in the afternoon, come on Leythers!
