Leigh RMI vs. Vauxhall Motors preview

RMI’s hopes of avoiding a second successive relegation take a massive test on Friday evening when basement rivals Vauxhall Motors are the visitors to Hilton Park.

The sides last met earlier this season when they shared the points in an eight goal thriller at Rivacre Park in September, but since then both sides have struggled and RMI have failed to score a goal in their past five games.

Tuesday evening saw RMI get a point from their home game against Alfreton after taking a shock point from runaway league leaders Stafford on Saturday, while Motors fell to a defeat at home to Stafford on Tuesday evening.

RMI goalkeeper James Coates is still sidelined by the back injury that saw him withdraw from the Stafford game at half-time, meaning John Lamb will continue to deputise in goal, though RMI boss Andy Nelson doesn't have any other serious injury worries to contend with, despite a heavy fixture schedule in recent weeks.
