Ex-RMI star signs for Burnley

Following Crewe Alexandra's relegation to League One, former RMI striker Steve Jones has signed for local Championship outfit Burnley.

29 year old Jones has agreed a three year contract at Turf Moor but it will be a bitter blow for RMI as they were hoping that they would receive a certain amount of money should he ever leave Crewe as a sell-on clause was included in the transfer deal that saw him leave Hilton Park four years ago. However, the Northern Irish international's contract had expired at Crewe, meaning Burnley could sign him on a free transfer, and of course that means RMI won't receive any financial benefit from the transfer.

I'm sure I speak for most RMI fans when I wish Stevo all the best with his new club and once again we'll all be following his progress in the Championship.
