CIS first round:- Raith Vs Airdrie preview.

Airdrie travel to Kirkaldy for the first round of the CIS cup. With the club trying to put behind us a poor opening day display against Ross County. Many fans will remember seeing Airdrie lose to Raith Rovers at the same stage of the competition last season, in what turned out to be our worst performance of the season well lets, hope we have already saw that and we can now move forward.
Sandy Stewart has only one player missing and that is Neil McGowan, the injury sustained in Northern Ireland still giving him problems. The question is should Sandy have faith in his first eleven? The answer for me is yes. However, the players have to realise that high balls to Twigg and Prunty are not going to work. Get the ball on the deck and pass the ball around. In the pre-season friendlies against Forfar and Stenhousemuir it was our passing game that impressed, it helped us win the games comfortably and in style, it seems in Belfast those tactics were left forgotten on the sunny shores of Scotland and are yet to find their way home. | |||||||||||||||||
