Airdrie have signed French 23 year old Xavier Barrau, after two very good displays for the team against St Johnstone and Dundee.
The Directors are pleased to confirm that agreement has been reached with the 'trialist' man of the match yesterday and he put pen to paper and signed for the Club with immediate effect.
Xavier Barrau, 23, is French and played last season in the Swiss First Division. He played as a trialist in the last two games and has agreed to join us for the rest of the season.
Sandy is delighted and said "We wanted to bring in new faces to freshen up the place and Xavi came highly recommended. We had the chance to have a look at him in 2 games but his performances and attitude in training were enough to convince me."
He also said "The application in our last two performances compared to previous games have been a credit to the players' attitude and we have been desperately unlucky not to take anything from those games. Anybody who was there would agree, however, the squad is more determined than ever to get points on the board and move forward."
However, the Board can confirm that the signings are not yet finished and the aim of strengthening is still paramount.
As ever, no comment will be made until concluded
