The Stomp is down because....

I have not been putting the work in to the site that it deserves. There are many reasons for this that close friends know about and I will not be sharing those reasons with the users of the site. For the Stomp to keep going it needs up dating on a regualr basis and with that we need help.

Many of the people using the Stomp see it as a place to come and read some messages and find out some information. Many see it as a place to conduct wind ups or to vent their frustrations, I always thought of it as a small community who had one thing in common.

We all supported the same football club!

During the summer and in to the new season I began to feel the Stomp forum had change direction, instead of a means of supporting the club it turned vindictive and nasty and that's where I lost interest. As has been mentioned time and time again people are entitled to their opinions but when those opinions damage the club or those who do there best to help the club are attacked on public forums maybe it's time for those forums to go.

Has the Stomp served its purpose?

Some say it has, but I personally don't think the fans of the club have anything else. We are split as a support in to so many different factions that it seems the only way of getting anything across to everyone is to use the forum. Or for someone to take the reigns and create something new something better.

So here's the deal, the Stomp I hope will be reactivated by sport network in the next few days and I'm going to start maintaining it as best I can until the end of the season. After that we will see what happens.

I would like to point out that Sport Network do not see the sites, they allow us to run, as message boards they see the sites as portals for news and stories and it's the front page articles that keep the Stomp going, I simply need people to contribute.

The Stomp was and will never be mine it's the fans who have kept the interest going so it's really up to you to decide whether it's worth your effort.

I already do admin for a website Chris, but for anyone who might be interested, why don't you explain the type of commitment you need?

In the simplest of terms all the site needs to keep it up and running is a match report once a week.

I take it upon myself that I was totally demotivated with things that happened during the summer, plus I haven't attended all the way games this season.

On Sundays when I usually wrote the reports I found it really easy to find other things to do.Much like others do when matches come around.

So until th summer I will add front page stories to keep it up and running but if anyone wants to add anything else feel free to e-mail me it. I would ask that anything passed along is objective though because I just won't publish someone letting of steam.
