As Chris says, the Schools Cup Competition kicked of last Thursday morning with all eight Secondary Schools in the area competing. There were two sections of four teams each.
Section 1 saw Airdrie Academy emerging as clear leaders, winning all their games without conceding a goal, while Chryston came second on goal difference over both Caldervale and Rosehall in a very close finish which was undecided until the final whistle of the final game.
Section 2 was a much closer group, however, St Ambrose proved too strong for the others in the end, claiming the top spot in their final game over St Andrews, with St Margarets and Coatbridge High following close behind.
The two semi final games are: Airdrie Academy v St Andrews & St Ambrose v Chryston. These games will be played at Craignuek Parks this Thursday, 3rd April, kick off at 6.30pm.
The final will be held at the stadium on Friday 25th April at 7.00pm

Good to see my old school Chryston High get through to the semis, changed days from my time there when we used to have a lap of honour when we won a corner.

And as usual, my old school (Coatbridge High) fails to progress beyond the 1st round! Ah well, I'll just have to support Chryston again as I lived opposite the school for years.

Diamond Inca, should I know who you are? I grew up and lived in Chryston for the best part of 27 years (lived in Peathill Avenue) and went to the High school from 81 - 87.
