Some managers hate the International break others see it as a chance to recharge batteries for the next quarter, last Sunday we loved it. An away win over local rivals Partick Thistle in the Alba Challenge Cup should be enough to lift the doom and gloom at least for a week!
The cup final is all well and good but we're back to where the players earn their bread and butter the first division is still the proving ground for our young squad and today sees us taking on league leaders Queen of the South.
Our first match against Queen of the South was the opening game of the season, Kenny Black set his stall out to earn a point and that's just what we did. Like many of our draws this season it wasn't a dull game and many of us returned North impressed with what we had seen.
So this time we're at home, will Kenny deploy the same tactics and try to stifle the match? Sunday's 4-4-2 formation worked for me and I would like him to use it over a prolonged period just to see what develops.
It looks as though Kenny also has a full squad to choose from Matt Hazely was on the bench last weekend against Partick and could make a return to the Starting line up. Mark Smyth and Kevin MacDonald also return from their suspension in the Challenge Cup.
For QotS Jamie Adams, Neil Scally and Scott Robertson are injury worries but Gary Arbuckle and Cammy Bell are back in the squad for selection.
