East Stirling Vs. Airdrie @ Stenhousemuir's Ochilview Park
By Stomp Admin August 14 2012
Tonight David Somers takes charge of a very rare occurrence, East Stirling Vs. Airdrie two teams that have never met in a competitive match since season 1973/74, Airdrie won both matches 2-0 in the Old Scottish Second Division.
Nathan Blockley and Sean Lynch are free to re-join the first team after serving their suspensions at the weekend, but after the displays from Barclay and Donnelly should they slide back in to the squad?
Prediction League
After the humiliation by Queens Park I’m surprised no one has taken a chance and went for East Stirling?
Prediction Stats East Stirling v Airdrie
Home Win: 0% [0]
Away Win: [36]
Draw: [6]
The six people who have predicted 0-0 probably haven’t predicted anything, have you made a prediction?
The Scores
2-4 [1]
1-4 [1]
1-3 [7]
1-2 [3]
0-3 [12]
0-2 [12]
0-0 [6]
Looks like a tossup between winning by two or winning by three.

Lynch and Blockley should be back in the team definitely, Donnelly should be no where near the first team, team should be: Arthur; Hart, Lilley, MacDonald, Warren; Bain, Lynch, Blockley, Cook; McLaren, Boyle. Think we should be ok tonight, although I did say that before the QP game
Apparently we played at the stadium last night too. Anyone know who we played and the score? Boyle mentioned the game in his interview per match tonight with the Colin Paterson
Tonight shows that the defeat to Queens Park wasn't a fluke, it was the first half against Dumbarton that was a fluke. Terrible performance, continuous high balls punted forward and I can count on one hand the number that we won.
After the first few minutes when we threatened, East Stirling took control. They were quicker and better all over the park. Ok, Lilley sold the first goal and the second looked suspiciously like offside, but that doesn't take anything away from the fact that it wasn't until around the 80th minute that we had a shot on target.
Positives? Jimmy Boyle's contarct is a few days nearer being up. The sooner the better.
How do they expect to attract punters back to home games when we were pathetic against lower league opposition. Out of two cups and its not even the middle of August yet. All I can say is Dumbarton must be really bad if they shipped four to us and like previous posters said if we dont buck up then we are going to get hammered at the weekend
We were rotten the night, totally rotten, Now I have a problem not with our players, but with Jimmy Boyle, We have better players than East Stirling, no matter how well they done we should have still won with a decent manager who WANTED to win, I get the feeling us fans who went tonight have been mugged by Boyle!
Did he want to win that game? Tactics, subs etc were all bizarre.
We were utter P1sh tonight and i will go to home games that i want to see .Jimmy need's to wake up or he will be worst manager we have had and some one shouted bring back Black tonight as he left the park.So good luck hope thay start playing better while i am on holiday in Egypt
Jimmy's response was to sit in a strop at the back of the dugout. We have a captain which gives no guidance to the team so if that is what management are doing, no wonder we are running about headless chickens! No midfield so we had a lovely game of pinball between defence and attack. On the plus side Jack Boyle looked good. Lynch seems to be having a howler of a start of a season and needs dropped. We badly need a central midfielder and that bloody blue away strip needs burned!
Last season Lilley only played well when Cammy was playing. By all accounts now that appears to have cracks. If last night is anything to go by, Arthur can only get used to picking the ball up out the net this season!
Lilley's the new captian with Cammy MacDonald as the vice. Couldnt make the game last night but I'm taking it that was a good thing!!! By the sounds of it Lynch is needing dropped, so we need to bring in a new centre mid to replace, as simply shoving Donnelly in there will NOT work. Jamie Pollock, as mentioned somewhere else, could be one to be looked at.
