After running the first ever Sponsor a Player Prediction League during season 2012 – 2013 and getting a very positive response we have decided to try it again for season 2013 -2014. I have created a PAYPAL account specifically for this.
After speaking to Airdrieonians FC I have received their support for the idea and it will cost £175,just like last season, we have already been designated a player and the entrants will be competing for Darren McCormack signed top at the end of the season.
Like last season I will not be entering the live competition myself and will add £25 to the kitty, so in essence we need to get 30 people willing to pay £5 for a chance to win a signed shirt at the end of season 2013-2014.
The Rules
1) To enter you must have paid £5 using the PayPal link below, I will not accept any other forms of payment. (If you give me £5 cash I will assume you owed me it and spend it on beer).
2) All payments must be made before Saturday 27th of July 2013 3pm, this gives me time to cancel the arrangement with the club should we not get enough entrants.
3) If you do not make your prediction before 3pm of a match day, 7:45pm for a weekday match or should matches be re-arranged for some other stupid time due to T.V. coverage there is nothing I can do.
4) A list of competitors will be produced on the 27nd of July, if your name is not on that list then you have not paid your £5 and you will not be entitled to the prize.
5) Playoffs, league matches and cup games will count towards the final tally; friendly matches will not count towards the prediction league
6) All matches will be over 90minute regulation time, extra time and penalties will not count.
7) Any entry money left over and above the £175 will be used to buy additional prizes.
8) The prediction league cannot be locked to paid entrants only; so anyone can take part but only those who have paid the £5 before the 27th of July 2013 will win any of the prizes.

Just think everyone that wants to sign up for the prediction league that we should be willing to pay 6 pounds what's an extra pound for a season of fun? I mean if Chris is doing all the work and not even playing why should he be out 25 pounds, does that sound good to all the players six pounds????
sixteen fixtures ready to be predicted. I should also add that I'm going to put up all the fixtures, something I've never done before, that way you can predict the full season now (excluding cup games) and change at a later date if you want to.

I'm beginning to think we won't get the 30 entrants we need by Saturdays game Vs Hamilton....
So options -
1) I can return everyones money after the Hamilton game.
2) I can take the challenge cup fixture out of the prediction league and keep the entry open for the next game. If I do this it won't go any further than the opening league game.
The guys who have signed up so far it's your choice.
Chris, option two sounds the best option at this time to give others an extra week to sign up. If you need to increase the fee, I am also good with that also.
Let's rally around and see if we can get those from last year to sign up again, it's cheep good fun for the whole season. So let's reach out and try to push for 30 people this week it's not like we're trying to push3,000 season tickets like Hearts.
I'm with Rusty on this Chris. Let it run another week. Maybe some guys on hol at the moment. We can review it again next week...although if I get the right score for the Hamilton game, I demand my points!!!
Sad, sad, sad, that it is so hard to find thirty people to sign up for the prediction league. Chris Mac is doing this for the good of the fans and gets nothing out of this and if I was him would be scratching my head and saying why bother nobody cares !!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe that's why we are where we are as a club as just too few care and even less will get involved.
Chris Mac you are a trooper to do what you do, and should know that you are appreciated.
Well we are getting closer to the thirty. Hopefully after today's game some more will be interested in getting in on the prediction league.
Let's hope for a good game and a good turnout for the new and improved AIRDRIEONIANS.
Now we are talking 24 and AirdrieEgg still to sign up and hopefully can encourage a few more. Why stop at thirty lets get thirty five and Chris Mac won't need to throw in £25.00
Chris
Do you need anyone who has entered to take another turn by contributing another £5 to make the 30 .I would be willing to put in again to reach target

Surely there must be 5 more Airdrieonians fans willing to have a whole season trying to predict the unpredictable (Airdrieonians results) for the sake of £5 and perhaps winning a signed Airdrieonians shirt from the 1st season under the resurrected name.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys but believe it or not I'm banned from the network, so using someone elses computer
I really don't want to ask you guys to contribute more it's not fair I will sort something else out...either way the 25 who have stepped up deserve your game so it kicks off this weekend.
