Airdrieonians welcomes over 100 members of the Boys Brigade to the Excelsior Stadium today as part of the organisations 130th birthday celebrations.

A result and performance could aid in bringing some new fans to the club and after our first home win in 13 months the club are hoping we can build on it.

But it looks like many of the Airdrie faithfull need to be convinced.

Was there any sort of protest today? I'm maintaining my one man protest by staying away until he's gone.

Boyle out.

No protest agree with one previous posters comments, felt we were good in the first half but in the 2nd half, we were poor at ball possesion mainly down poor 2nd half midfield performance we see sat back however we held out, there were positives felt Young Coogans had his best airdrie game to date, and chris oneil and jim lister are big players for us. Grant Evans is 1rst choice centre half for me turning into mr consistent at the back..

Well on top in the first half and scored 2 good goals. The second half things fell apart significantly, but fortunately Brechin were dreadful. Much better up front with Lister as the big guy and Coogans the runner trying to feed off him. A pity it has taken JB so long to figure that out.

I doubt Bile has figured anything.

Looking at yesterday's showing, there were many individual perfromances but little link up as a team.
Being quite honest, this was possibly the poorest Brechin team I have seen in many a year.
To get our second win at home in a year was very pleasing.

Glad to see us winning yesterday, but really there is little improvement --- it seems just a metter of chance whether we win or not.
The teamwork in non existent, the defence is chaotic whenever a ball comes into the penalty box, when under pressure we just sit back and punt the ball up the park, the tactics are beyond belief(particularly after JB has his half time team talk !!) etc etc.
Yesterday we were looking good, 2up then immediately lose a poor goal and virtually are backs to the wall for the whole of the second half against the worst Brechin team I have seen for years. At least the 2 young boys Watt and Coogans look good for the future, but so did Donnelly a year or so ago.
We are going NO-WHERE except DOWN with the current set up.
Goodness knows what will happen IF we happen to scramble a win again next week ---- probably another 2 year contract for Boyle ????

Very strange game. Bizarrely going by clear cut chance we could have won by more BUT Brechin were all over us in possession. Most of the game was played in our half without them making our keeper work too hard.

If Brechin were better going forward and had a better delivery from set pieces they would have walked that game, we were hardly out our half in that 2nd half and we should be grateful they were playing shite yesterday. The defense is still a nervous wreck at times, just a scramble any time a ball comes in the box. We need composure and confidence in that team something which stems from the manager and he just ain't got it I'm afraid.

606 at the game. It would appear that there are many more like minded Diamonds people who are choosing to go to the gym or watch English football on the TV on a Saturday afternoon until Boyle is gone.

Boyle out.

We played with 4 central midfielders, went 2 goals up, and then conceded a goal due to a sloppy passback. In the second half the midfield dropped further back, and conceded everything to Brechin. Fortunately for us, they were dire, and didn't make their dominance count. In fact, we had better chances on the break, and eventually took one.

As said, good first half and very poor second - possibly from a lack of confidence and nervousness. Very pleased with the win. Thought Coogans and Evans had good games. The goalie did well again. Not yet convinced about McCormack. Boyle is fine at left back. Would like to see the whole team push up a bit -from centre half to strikers. The midfield in particular need to press the ball further up field.

Essential victory - hopefully we can push on from here.
