Prediction League Game 1 - Queens Park 1 Vs. 3 Airdrie

So the first games are over in the SPFL 1st division and the standard has been set high. Alloa beating Peterhead 4-0, Livingston beat Stranraer 5-1 and of course we took three points from our visit to Hampden Park winning 1-3.
If I were to be honest I would say Airdrie struggled in the first half and if it wasn't for some good saves from Rohan Ferguson and the cross bar saving our blushes we could have been three or four nil down. I wasn't at the Queens Park cup match so can't compare tactics but Queens seemed to have learnt quickly that by using a man marking system we weren't able to play and we were very slow to pick up on this and choose a second option.
Things changed however when Iain Russell was clipped in the penalty box and was awarded a penalty, he stepped up and cooly slotted home for his first league goal for the Diamonds.
In the second half we were given more room to play and were able to settle on the ball, our second goal came from a corner, I thought it was Conroy who rose above the Queens Park defence but it has been confirmed as Fitzpatrick who scored our second goal.
Queens Park got the next goal, but it was slotted in to the back of the net by Airdrie's Fitzpatrick after a Queens Park corner.
Airdrie's game disintegrated and Queens Park were in control and looked the most likey to score and then the game was put out of Queens Park reach when a long clearence found Ian Russell, Russell found Adam Brown who made it 3-1 to the Diamonds.
